Document 82273 PETER MAX Nebulous Quasarian Galaxies drawn in person for a noted collector. Original Art signed: "Peter Max" twice, 9¼x4 envelope with 9¼x1¾ flap. On the flap, Max has written: "This is not printed." Dated by the artist: "11-26-88." On the envelope's front panel, Max has drawn the head of Mercury against a celestial-type background. Max made this drawing on a First Day Cover for noted autograph collector Todd M. Axelrod. Affixed to the envelope is the official stamp created by Max for Expo '74, which had a "Preserve the Environment" theme, postmarked Spokane, Washington, April 18 1974, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Peter Max is best known for his 1970s psychedelic posters with kaleidoscopic colors and symmetry. His themes of peace, love, harmony and oneness were elicited from his practice of yoga.
