Document 153672 ANDY WARHOL The artist in New York, 1975. Postcard Photograph signed: "Andy Warhol". B/w, 6x4¼. Captioned on verso: "Andy Warhol, New York, 1975/Photograph by Pepe Diniz". Photo in the collection of Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York. Warhol, a former commercial artist, first attracted attention with his exhibitions of pop art subjects from everyday life (Campbell's Soup Can, 1965; Green Coca-Cola Bottles, 1962). He then ventured into experimental motion pictures, producing, among others, the seven-hour The Chelsea Girls (1966). The artist, producer and publisher is credited with not only reflecting American culture but helping to shape it.
