Document 224298 VLADIMIR LYAKHOV Russian cosmonaut who spent a total of 324 days in space on two missions. Philatelic Envelope signed: "V. Lyakhov" in Russian, 6¾x4¾. Hungarian first day cover with three stamps honoring the U.S. Viking and Skylab space programs and the Soviet Soyuz and Salyut space programs. Pictorially postmarked Budapest, Hungary, September 20, 1977, FIRST DAY. Soyuz 32, launched February 25, 1979, carried Lyakhov and Valery Ryumin to the Salyut 6 Soviet space station. They set a new endurance record by remaining in space for 175 days. Lyakhov returned to space on June 27, 1983 aboard Soyuz T-9 with Aleksandr Aleksandrov, spending an unscheduled 149 days aboard the Salyut 7 space station after Soyuz 10 failed in a relief mission.
