     Document 24300

AUGUSTE de MARMONT. ALS: "M", 1p, 6¼x8. No place, no date. In French, not translated. Auguste de Marmont served in Napoleonic campaigns, notably at Marengo (1800), Ulm (1805), Znojmo (1809) and in Germany (1813-1814). He was created Duc de Raguse in 1808 and Marshal of France in 1809. Later commissioned Major General, he tried unsuccessfully to suppress the Revolution of 1830. Creased. Lightly stained in 2 places, one touches bottom of "M". Folds, not at signature. Slightly soiled.
