Document 207088
BLAZE STARR. Typescript signed: "3-16-92/Love and
Kisses/Always/Blaze Starr/[shooting star]", 1p, 8½x11.
Headed: "Excerpt From/* BLAZE STARR: MY LIFE */By/* BLAZE STARR*".
Begins: "Other than coon hunters and revenuers, very few people have
ever set foot in Newground Hollow. Just what led my mother and father to make
their way from Twelve Pole Creek following the night of their marriage to the
head of this little hollow where they built a two-room log cabin and raised all
eleven of us young'uns, I guess remains something of a puzzlement to most people
who knew about it...." Stripper Blaze Starr's involvement with Louisiana
Governor Earl K. Long resulted in a major political scandal and was the subject
of Blaze, a 1989 Academy Award nominated film starring Paul Newman. After
Long died, the flamboyant Starr "renewed my friendship with then President
J.F.K.", whom she had first met in 1952. Slightly creased. Fine
condition.
