BEATRICE STRAIGHT. Photograph signed: "Beatrice Straight/May 1
1988". B/w, 8x10. Beatrice Straight (1918-2001) was a Broadway actress from
1935, earning a Tony Award for The Crucible (1953). While working
on the New York stage, she appeared in the Manhattan based soap opera Love of
Life, and Straight later had roles in the TV series Beacon Hill
(1975), Wonder Woman (1976) and King's Crossing (1982) and played
Rose Kennedy in a 1985 television miniseries. Straight, who won the 1976 Best
Supporting Actress Academy Award for Network, also won acclaim for
her role as an overconfident investigator of the paranormal in
Poltergeist (1982). Image slightly grainy. Lightly creased at upper blank
edge and lower blank corners. Black marks at lower right corner and upper blank
edge. Fine condition.
