GOLF
Early golf greats.
Paper Heart Ticket signed: "Walter Hagen", "Gene Sarazen" and "Jimmy Thomson", approximately 3x3. Sarazen signed in ink, Hagen and Thomson in pencil. Signed on verso of $1.00 Season Ticket to the $2,500 Sacramento Open Golf Championship held at the Del Paso Country Club and Sacramento Municipal Golf Course, January 19-21, 1935. HAGEN won the U.S. Open in 1914 and 1919, the British Open in 1922, 1924, 1928 and 1929 and the PGA in 1921, and from 1924-1927. SARAZEN won the Masters in 1935, the U.S. Open in 1922 and 1932, the British Open in 1932 and the PGA in 1922, 1923 and 1933. THOMSON, who had played in his first U.S. Open in 1925 when he was 16, was runner-up at the 1935 U.S. Open and 1936 PGA. ½-inch separation, all text intact. Lightly creased and slightly soiled. Torn file hole at top blank margin.
