LILLIAN RUSSELL. Large Vintage Photograph signed: "To
Maggie/Fondly Yours/Lillian Russell". Sepia, 9x12¾, professionally mounted
to heavy board. The American light soprano won acclaim in operettas by
Gilbert & Sullivan and Jacques Offenbach. Known as much for her beauty
as for her flamboyant life style, Russell first appeared on stage in the chorus
of H.M.S. Pinafore in 1879. Edges worn, ¾x¼-inch chip at right edge. 2
pinhead-size nicks at upper edge. Fine condition.
