SIXTO ESCOBAR. Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Frank/Kingston from/his friend,/Sixto Escobar/May 28th 1936/New York, N.Y." B/w, 5x8. Sixto Escobar (1913-1979) was Bantamweight Champion of the World from 1936-1937 and 1938-1939. The holder of the NBA Bantamweight title, Escobar unified the title when he KO'd Tony Marino in the 13th round on August 31, 1936, in New York. Lightly creased and soiled (barely evident head on). Nailhead-size stain on his left thigh. Mounting remnants on verso (no show through). Overall, fine condition.
