Document 83746 AUGUST PABST Great-grandson of Pabst founder Captain Frederick Pabst. Photograph signed: "August U. Pabst". B/w, 5x7. "Auggie" Pabst was at the helm of Milwaukee's oldest brewery when it closed its factory there in December 1996 after 152 years in the city. At the time, Pabst, which had ranked third in beer sales nationally during the 1970s, had dropped to sixth as a result of crushing competition (especially the introduction of specialty beers by micro-breweries), mismanagement and union disputes. Pabst's brewing operations were moved to a competitor's plant in La Crosse, Wisconsin, leaving only the Pabst mansion and the Pabst Theater as the family's legacy in Milwaukee. 2 paper clip impressions at upper background. Fine condition. SEE IF DOCUMENT 83746 IS FOR SALE RIGHT NOW!!
