LESTER J. MAITLAND. Signature: "Lester J.
Maitland/1st Lt Air Corps USA/California to Hawaii/June 28-29 1927", 3½x3.
Pilot Lester J. Maitland and navigator Albert Hegenberger made the first
California-to-Hawaii flight in a Fokker C-2 Trimotor from Oakland, California to
Wheeler Field, Oahu, Hawaii, a distance of 2,416 miles, in 26 hours and 49
minutes. "J" and "Maitl" of signature slightly smudged. Overall, fine
condition.
