RONALD REAGAN. Final Draft ALS: "Ron"
as Governor of California, 1p, 4¾x8¼. No place (Sacramento), 1967 May
12. To Dr. John P. Lordan, MD, Beverly Hills. In part: "This is a
late reply to your April 24 letter but the channels of communication get arterio
(sic) sclerosis in the halls of govt. I just wanted you to know how much
I appreciate your good suggestion. Vivian Pauls (sic) name will be put on
tap. for I do want to point out that a plan is being followed where in I'm
guided by a series of committees appointed by the bar but we'll see that her
name gets consideration at the first opportunity...." Page from a note pad.
Date noted by a secretary in red, indicating that the letter was typed and sent
on May 12, 1967. On January 2, 1967, Reagan was sworn in as Governor of
California. He was reelected in 1970, serving until 1975. Fine condition.
