BERNARD BARUCH
Adviser to Presidents from Wilson to LBJ.
Photograph signed: "B.M. Baruch". B/w, 8x10 overall, image 7x9 (one surface). Photograph by Blackstone Studios, New York. The U.S. financier made his fortune on Wall Street and became an influential adviser to U.S. Presidents from Woodrow Wilson to Lyndon B. Johnson. President Wilson appointed Baruch Chairman of the War Industries Board in 1918. In 1919, Baruch was appointed a member of the Supreme Economic Council with the American Commission to Negotiate Peace at Paris in 1919. He advised FDR on economic mobilization in World War II and was appointed U.S. Representative on the United Nations Atomic Energy Commission by President Truman. Photographer's stamping on verso (no show through). Minor surface creases, mainly in blank margins. Lightly rippled. Fine condition.
