CALVIN COOLIDGE
Only U.S. President born on the Fourth of July.
Large Printed Portrait signed: "Calvin Coolidge" in pencil, 12½x16¾. Mounted to a board of similar size. Also signed in pencil by the artist: "Franklin P. Mead". Portrait © Charles Barmore, Wyckoff, N.J. After succeeding to the Presidency in 1923 upon Harding's death, Coolidge was elected to a full four-year term in 1924. In 1928, while vacationing in the Black Hills of South Dakota, President Coolidge announced, "I do not choose to run for President in 1928." He and First Lady Grace Coolidge retired to their Northampton, Massachusetts home, where he died in 1933 at 60 and she died in 1957 at 78. Shaded at perimeter from prior framing. ½-inch diagonal tear (all paper intact) at upper blank edge. Overall, fine condition.
