JOHN DRINKWATER. Autograph Poem signed: "John Drinkwater/Scranton/November 30th 1925". In full: "Such are the things remain/Quietly, and for ever, in the brain,/And the things that they choose for/history making pass." British poet and playwright Drinkwater was a prolific writer, publishing 24 volumes of poetry and 19 plays (including Abraham Lincoln, 1918 and Bird in Hand, 1928) as well as numerous biographies, two volumes of autobiography and critical works. Poems from the period of this letter are collected in Summer Harvest: Poems 1924-1933. Slightly shaded and soiled, 3 file holes at lower left blank margin. Fine condition.
