GERALD R. FORD. TLS: "Jerry Ford"
as Congressman, 1p, 8x10½. Washington, D.C., 1963 October 7. To
constituent Thomas Gaertner, Grand Rapids, Michigan, thanking him for his letter
and enclosing (not present) "a number of recent weekly newsletters", for
which Ford has adder Gaertner's name "to the list of those to obtain the
newsletter each week during the sessions of Congress...." Ford represented
Grand Rapids in the House of Representatives from 1949 until December 6, 1973,
when he was sworn in as Nixon's Vice President, succeeding Spiro T. Agnew, who
had resigned. Horizontal fold touches signature. Fine condition.
