GROVER CLEVELAND. Signature: "Sincerely
Yours/Grover Cleveland/Sept 24, 1901", 3¼x1¾. Twenty-third President
Benjamin Harrison had died March 13, 1901 and 25th President William McKinley,
shot on September 6th, died on September 14, 1901, just ten days before 22nd and
24th President Grover Cleveland signed this autograph. For only the third time
in U.S. history, there was only one former President alive (1797-1799 when
Washington was alive; 1869-1875 when Andrew Johnson was alive). When Cleveland
died in 1908, no former President was alive. Slightly soiled, light stains at
upper left blank corner. Fine condition. Presented in the Gallery of History
style in a leather folio: 10x13.
