1. To Fred Schmidt, Kansas City, Kansas. In full: "Thanks a lot
for your letter about Frank H. Jameson. I will proceed to do what I can for him.
I am more than happy to have the new list of addresses for the members of the
Battery." In WWI, Truman was Commander of Battery D, which Truman, according
to one historian, called a "spirited group of Irishmen and German Catholics"
from Kansas City. Lightly creased. Folds not at signature. Lightly shaded at
upper blank margin, which has light paper clip impression at left. Overall, fine
condition.
