| Lot # 826 FAWN HALL - PHOTOGRAPH SIGNED - Document 223109 |
|
|
FAWN HALL. Photograph signed: "Best wishes/Fawn Hall". B/w,
8x10. Photo by Harry Langdon. Hall gained celebrity status during the
Congressional investigation of the Iran/Contra scandal (1987). Under a grant
of immunity, the attractive secretary explained how she had shredded and
altered documents, smuggling others out of the office in her underwear, to
protect her boss, Lt. Colonel Oliver North. Expressing strong faith in
North, who had funneled money from clandestine arms sales to Iran to violate the
Congressional ban on aid to the "Contra" rebels in Nicaragua, Hall observed:
"Sometimes you have to go above the written law." Fine
condition.
