Document 253350 FRANCES F. CLEVELAND Youngest First Lady, 1886-1889 and 1893-1897. Executive Mansion Card signed: "Frances F. Cleveland" as First Lady, 4½x2¾. Grover Cleveland, the bachelor Governor of New York, was elected President of the United States on November 4, 1884. On June 2, 1886, the 49-year-old President married his 21-year-old ward, Frances Folsom, the daughter of his deceased law partner, in the White House. They had three daughters and two sons; their youngest son Francis died in 1995 at the age of 92. Frances and Grover were married until the former President died in 1908, 22 days after their 22nd wedding anniversary. The Executive Mansion card was introduced by President Grant. When Theodore Roosevelt became President in 1901, he changed the imprint to "White House", then to "The White House". Mounting glue stains on verso (no show through).
