LYNDON B. JOHNSON
Informal photograph of the future President and First Lady.
Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Floyd Wadder/with best wishes Lyndon B. Johnson". B/w, 10x8 overall, image 9½x5¾ (one surface). Not dated, but probably signed as U.S. Senator. His wife, Lady Bird Johnson, is at his right. On November 17, 1934, 26-year-old Lyndon B. Johnson, secretary to Congressman Richard M. Kleberg, married 21-year old Lady Bird (Claudia Alta) Taylor in San Antonio, Texas. They had two children, Lynda Bird (born 1944) and Luci Baines (born 1947). They were married for 39 years and 66 days until Lyndon Johnson's death in 1973. LBJ served as Texas Congressman (1937-1948) and Senator (1949-1961), Vice President (1961-1963) and 36th President (1963-1969). 3 file nicks at blank top edge, 3 tack holes in blank bottom margin. Lightly creased just touching the bottom of the "J" in Johnson.
