TED KLUSZEWSKI
Candidate for selection by the Hall of Fame Veterans Committee.
Baseball Card signed: "Ted Kluszewski", 2½x3½. 1961 baseball card as first baseman of the Los Angeles Angels during their first year of existence, the first year of major league expansion. Kluszewski (1924-1988) ended his 18-year career with the 1961 Angels. His lifetime batting average was .298 with 279 career home runs. Kluszewski led the major leagues in home runs (49) and RBIs (141) with the 1954 Cincinnati Reds. In the 1959 World Series, "Big Klu" hit .391 with three home runs and 10 RBI in the six game series won by the Dodgers. On July 18, 1998, his number 18 was retired by the Cincinnati Reds. Lightly soiled at right margin. Fine condition.
