SAMMY CAHN and JAMES VAN HEUSEN
Oscar-winning songwriters.
Printed Photograph Mount signed: "James Van Heusen" and "Sammy Cahn". Clipped b/w newspaper photograph pasted to sheet, 4½x8½ overall, image 4½x6¾ (two surfaces). VAN HEUSEN composed the music and CAHN wrote the lyrics for three Academy Award-winning songs: "High Hopes" (1959), "All the Way" (1957) and "Call Me Irresponsible" (1963). Cahn also won an Academy Award for "Three Coins in the Fountain" (1954) with composer Jule Styne. Van Heusen also won an Oscar for "Swinging on a Star" (1944), written with lyricist Johnny Burke. Penciled notes on verso (unknown hand). 1¼-inch separation beneath photograph, tape repair remnant on verso (which shows through, not touching signatures). Overall, fine condition.
