     Document 257575

QUEEN. Typed Contract signed: "F Mercury", "B.D. May", "Roger Taylor" and "John Deacon". 3p, 8½x11, separate sheets. No place, 1976 December 1. In letter form from Queen to Elektra/Asylum/Nonesuch Records, A Division of Warner Communications, Los Angeles, concerning a contract between Elektra and Sackville Productions Limited dated the same day. Queen agrees that "By reason of a long-term employment contract, [Sackville] Productions is exclusively entitled to my services as a recording artist throughout the world excluding the United Kingdom...I will not perform outside the United Kingdom in any capacity whatsoever...for any other person, firm or corporation other than Productions for the purpose of making phonograph records...." Queen was formed in 1971 in London. Vocalist MERCURY played the piano, MAY played the guitar, DEACON the bass and TAYLOR the drums. Queen hits include "Bohemian Rhapsody", "We Are The Champions" and "We Will Rock You". By 1991, Queen had drastically scaled back its activity, causing many rumors to circulate about Freddie Mercury's health. On November 23rd, he issued a statement confirming that he was stricken with AIDS; he died the next day. Staple holes at upper left. Lightly creased. Fine condition.
