| Lot # 126 PRESIDENT WILLIAM J. "BILL" CLINTON - INSCRIBED CARTOON SIGNED 02/03/1983 - Document 176052 |
|
|
BILL CLINTON. Political cartoon inscribed and
signed: "To Doug Wallace/With thanks/Bill Clinton 2-3-83," 1p, 14x11.
Reproduction of a cartoon by George Fisher of the Arkansas Gazette
depicting Governor Clinton in the driver's seat of a pick-up truck he had
just bought, speeding away from "Honest George's Used Vehicles." The other
four vehicles on the lot were a baby carriage, a three-wheeler, bicycle with
training wheels, and a ten-speed bicycle. Clinton had been elected Governor in
1978 but was defeated for reelection in 1980. He ran again in 1982 and won.
This cartoon appeared at that time indicating the Governor was moving forward
full-speed ahead. He was reelected in 1984, 1986, 1988, and 1990. Fine
condition.
