CALVIN COOLIDGE. White House Card signed: "Calvin Coolidge"
as President, 4¼x2¾. Vice President Coolidge was sworn in as President of
the United States following the death of President Harding on August 2, 1923. He
was elected to a full four-year term on November 4, 1925. On August 2, 1927,
from the Summer White House at the State Game Lodge, Custer State Park, Rapid
City, South Dakota, President Coolidge issued the following statement: "I do not
choose to run for President in nineteen twenty-eight." Tape remnants on verso
lightly show through at right blank corner. Fine condition.
