| Lot # 9 PRESIDENT MILLARD FILLMORE - ANNOTATED FREE FRANK SIGNED - Document 254937 |
|
|
MILLARD FILLMORE
Free franking signature.
Signature: "Free M. Fillmore" cut from a franked envelope, 4x1¾.
Postal marking stamped: "FREE". Addressee's name in Fillmore's
hand: "Saml S. Lord". This was probably signed after Fillmore left
the presidency in 1853 because it was his custom to have added his office be it
"M.C." as Member of Congress or "V.P." as Vice President to his franking
signature. Lightly creased at right blank edge, erased pencil notation at upper
left blank corner, slightly soiled.
