JOHN F. KENNEDY. Informal photograph inscribed and signed: "For
William T. Buck/With best wishes/John F. Kennedy". B/w, 9¾x7. Notes on verso
in unidentified hand state the photo was taken in Commack, Long Island. Buck's
address label is also on verso. Supporter in crowd in foreground is wearing "Win
With Kennedy" straw hat, worn during the 1960 presidential campaign.
Massachusetts Senator John F. Kennedy defeated incumbent Vice President Richard
Nixon in the November 8, 1960 election by 34.2 million to 34.1 million popular
votes and 303-219 electoral votes (including New York's 45 electoral votes).
Photographs signed "John F. Kennedy" are scarce and desirable. Lightly
creased at edges. Adequate contrast with slight "beading" of ink on surface.
Stained on verso (no show through). Overall, fine condition.
