LYNDON JOHNSON. Photograph Mount signed: "Lyndon B
Johnson". Color, 11x14 overall, image 8½x11 (two surfaces). Inscribed in
calligraphy: "To Charles W. Pentz/With best wishes," above signature.
Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908-1973), the 36th President of the U.S.
(1963-1969), had served as U.S. Representative from Texas
(1937-1949), U.S. Senator from Texas (1949-1961 -- Senate Majority Whip,
1951-1953; Minority Leader, 1953-1955; Majority Leader, 1955-1961) and JFK's
Vice President (1961-1963). When President Kennedy was assassinated on
November 22, 1963, LBJ was sworn in as President aboard Air Force
One. In 1964, he was elected for a full four-year term, but did not seek
reelection in 1968. Mount lightly soiled, light crease and pinhead-size stain at
lower left blank corner. Overall, fine condition.
