Typed Quotation signed: "Ronald Reagan", 1p, 8x10. In full: "Government exists to protect us from each other. We can't afford the government it would take to protect us from ourselves." Captioned: "Quoted in Laurence I. Barnett's Gambling with History-Reagan in the White House, 1983". In an interview in "The New York Times", April 13, 1980, candidate Reagan said: "Government exists to protect us from each other", adding, "Where Government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves." Slightly creased. Fine condition.
