     Document 50408

RONALD REAGAN
Vietnam-war date letter to a soldier in Southeast Asia.
TLS: "Ron" as Governor of California, 1p, 7¼x10½. Sacramento, 1971 March 29. To Norman E. Thomson, USCE, APO San Francisco. In full: "I enjoyed hearing from you again, although I regret very much your current problems. Just how much assistance we can render I honestly don't know. Anyway, I'll pass on your letter and all the information to our Washington representative so that he can check into your situation and perhaps get a more satisfactory reply. We'll keep our fingers crossed. Warm regards." In a holograph postscript, Reagan adds: "P.S. He is a former service man himself so will have an understanding of your problem." APO San Francisco is the Army Post Office for Asia. File holes and rust stain at upper blank margin. Lightly creased.
