Document 164741 BERNARD BARUCH U.S. financier and advisor to Presidents. Photograph inscribed and signed: "For 'Charlie' Hand with affectionate/regards/B M Baruch/1934". B/w, 10x13 overall, image 7x9¼ (one surface). Financier Bernard M. Baruch made his fortune on Wall Street, becoming a millionaire by age 30. An influential advisor to U.S. Presidents from Woodrow Wilson to Lyndon Johnson, Baruch was appointed Chairman of the War Industries Board by President Wilson in 1918 and advised FDR on economic mobilization during WWII. He was later appointed as the U.S. Representative on the United Nations Atomic Energy Commission by President Truman. His autobiography, Baruch: My Own Story, detailing his early years and Wall Street career was published in 1957. Shaded at blank margins, dampstained at bottom blank margin. Lightly rippled.
