ABBA EBAN. TLS: "A. Eban" in Hebrew as Israeli
Foreign Minister, 1p, 8¼x6½. Jerusalem, 1967 February 8. In Hebrew,
not fully translated. To David Tane naming him "head of the Board of
Directors of the Institution of Planning and Development as decided by the
commission of the Ministers of the Economy...Wishing you success and good
luck." Israel's first Representative to the United Nations (1948-1959) and
Ambassador to the United States (1950-1959), the eloquent Abba Eban (1915-2002)
was Foreign Minister from 1966-1974. He faced his greatest challenge at the
United Nations in the period during and after the Six Day War, four
months after writing this letter. Folds. Creased, 1 touches first part of
signature. 2 file holes at blank left. Paper clip impressions at upper margin.
