JEAN J. JUSSERAND. TLS: "Jusserand" as French Ambassador
to the United States, 1p, 6¼x8¼. Washington, 1922 December 26. To
John Barrett, New York. In part: "We have always found you a true
friend and in that long lapse of years which has passed since we began to be
acquainted there never was an occasion when to meet and greet you was not a real
pleasure...." Jusserand served as France's Ambassador to the United States
from 1902-1925. He was awarded the first Pulitzer Prize for History in 1917
for With Americans of Past and Present Days. Heavily shaded at blank left
and upper margins. Pasted catalog entry at lower blank margin.
