ROSALYNN CARTER. Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Irene Locker/Best Wishes-/Rosalynn Carter". Color, 8x10. On July 7, 1946, 18-year-old Rosalynn Smith and 21-year-old Ensign Jimmy Carter were married in Plains, Georgia. As of the date of this auction, they have been married for 57 years 79 days. After her father-in-law died in 1953, her husband Jimmy left the Navy to return home to run the family peanut business; Rosalynn kept the books. As First Lady, Mrs. Carter continued to support her main causes of mental health, the elderly and the Equal Rights Amendment. Fine condition.
