CALVIN COOLIDGE and FRANK B. KELLOGG. Partly Printed DS:
"Calvin Coolidge" as President and "Frank B. Kellogg" as
Secretary of State, 1p, 23x19. Washington, 1926 July 27. Appointment
of Bernard Gottlieb as "Counsel at Singapore Straits Settlements, for
Singapore...." KELLOGG served as COOLIDGE's Secretary of State
from 1925-1929. The Kellogg-Briand Pact, condemning "recourse to war for
the solution of international controversies" was signed in Paris by 15 nations
on August 27, 1928. For their work, Kellogg and French Foreign Minister
Aristide Briand were awarded the 1929 Nobel Peace Prize. Creased. Lightly
nicked and shaded lower edge. Lightly stained below fine, 3¾-inch seal. Overall
fine condition.
