In full: "Thank you so much for your letter. Your support is very much appreciated. It sounds as if you did quite a recruiting job in the pre-election time. We owe our victory to people like you. Once again, thank you for taking the time to write." On November 4, 1980, former Governor of California Ronald Reagan was elected President and former CIA Director (his last government job) George Bush was elected Vice President, defeating incumbents Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale 43.9 million to 35.5 million popular votes, 489-49 electoral votes. Lightly creased, file nicks at blank left edge, else fine condition.
