Document 174085
CHET HUNTLEY. Photograph inscribed and
signed: "To/Eddie -/Regards./Chet Huntley". B/w, 7x9. A news announcer
since his college days, Huntley (1911-1974) teamed on television with David
Brinkley, beginning with the presidential nominating conventions of 1956. The
Huntley-Brinkley Report (1956-1970) won eight Emmy Awards and made the pair,
according to a 1965 poll, more recognizable to Americans than the Beatles.
Cutting between Huntley in New York and Brinkley in Washington, the news program
set new standards in TV journalism. Huntley retired to his native Montana in
1970. Slightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
