JESSICA SAVITCH. Scarce photograph inscribed and signed: "To/Mr. & Mrs. Sousa/Best Wishes/Jessica Savitch." B/w, 8x10. Savitch (1947-1983) was the first network news anchorwoman (NBC, 1977). On January 17, 1983, she hosted the first episode of Frontline on PBS, an hour series of independently produced documentaries. Savitch was to have hosted a second season but she was killed in an automobile accident on October 23, 1983. She was 36. Staple hole in upper left corner, else fine condition.
